Yvonne Corcoran Loftus

Yvonne has worked in the museum sector since 2013, initially as Curator of the Michael Davitt Museum in County Mayo (2013–2024), and currently as Manager of the Jackie Clarke Collection. She successfully guided the Michael Davitt Museum through Interim, Full, and Maintenance Accreditation stages of the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland (MSPI), and has since enrolled the Jackie Clarke Collection in the same programme.
Yvonne has in-depth experience of both non-government-funded rural museums and local authority-funded institutions, with a strong understanding of their distinct challenges and opportunities. She holds a BA in Business Management and an MA in Museum Practice and Management.
Her professional interests include museum sustainability, community engagement, the disability sector, and the preservation of cultural heritage. She is also personally committed to exploring Irish social history, enhancing heritage interpretation, and developing inclusive public programming.
Yvonne Corcoran Loftus was elected to the IMA's board of directors in May 2025.
