Margarita Vásquez Cárdenas

Margarita Vásquez Cárdenas joined the IMA as the organisation's part-time Programme Manager in June 2024.  Margarita is an artist and arts administrator, originally from Bogotá, Colombia, and has worked in Ireland over the past decade.

With experience in the delivery of multi-scaled collective and public engagement projects, she holds an MFA in Painting from Ohio University (USA) under a Fulbright Scholarship and an MA in Cultural Policy & Arts Management from University College Dublin. She worked with Business to Arts as Membership & Project and oversaw corporate membership programs and fine art consultancy projects, managing large-scale initiatives and liaising with diverse stakeholders. With Maurice Ward Art Handling, Margarita managed complex art handling and transport logistics while building strong relationships with artists, national institutions, local authorities and collectors. She also founded and co-directed Parãmus, an interdisciplinary arts organisation in Colombia, where she promoted creative expression and cultural understanding.
