Gina O'Kelly

Gina O'Kelly (she/her) joined the IMA in 2011. As the senior executive, she is responsible for delivering the association's vision and leading its advocacy work, research, and programming in support of the museum sector.
A Licentiate (BA+MA) in Fine Arts from the University of Granada, Spain, Gina has held senior management and curatorial roles with a range of cultural organisations, including Black Church Print Studio, Solomon Gallery, and Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre. As a free-lance project manager she has delivered major national and international touring exhibitions in Europe, USA, South America, South Africa, and the Middle East, public art installation, and blue-chip visual art publications. She has a strong interest in life-long learning and communities, having previously led a heritage FETAC programme with DCHC and worked with the community arts organisation Common Ground.
Gina serves on the Board of Visual Artists Ireland and ETAI (Encountering the Arts Ireland) and is a member of Digital Repository Ireland's Expert Advisory Group; Cultural Rights, Cultural Democracy biennial WG; the Network of European Organisations Museums & Sustainability WG; and contributes to Ireland's CCSAP for Built & Archaeological Heritage WG.
