Survey: Public funding in the museum sector (all-island)
8 Jun 2025
The Irish Museums Association is conducting a short survey among museum organisations to gain a deeper understanding of access to, awareness of, and potential barriers to public funding within the museum sector across Ireland.
Whether your museum has applied for funding regularly, occasionally, or not at all, your insights are crucial. These will inform ongoing sector-wide advocacy and contribute to policy discussions aimed at strengthening public funding supports.
We would be very grateful if you could take 10-12 minutes to complete the survey. All responses will remain anonymous.
What is the survey for?
Your responses and the data provided will help us:
- Map current levels of awareness and engagement with public funding schemes
- Identify common challenges or obstacles to access when applying for funding
- Gather insights to help improve future supports for the sector
Who should complete the survey?
The survey is best completed by someone familiar with any funding aid that your museum has applied for or received in the last three years. If that’s not you, please pass this email on to the right person on your team.
When does it need to be completed?
The deadline for completion of the survey is Friday, 11 July. This will allow us time to analyse the data and produce a short report in advance of our Autumn seminar, which will focus on museum funding.
Thank you in advance for your time and input.
