Interpreting Museums - Cooperation with NI initiative
19 Aug 2020
The IMA, in partnership with NI Museums Council, has been awarded funding through the DCHG’s Cooperation with NI scheme for the project Interpreting Museums.
Interpreting Museums is a multi-faceted project that aims to encourage stronger working relationships on a cross-border basis, enhance professional skills, and develop a fuller public understanding of museum practice.
Open to IMA and NIMC members, participants will be selected through a call for expressions of interest and will work with partners on a cross-border basis. They will knowledge-share and explore each others practice through virtual-shadowing, will be able to avail of online training, and be supported in the co-creation of online mini-presentations of their practice. A presentation of findings will be available online at the end of November 2020.
The Cooperation with NI scheme is an annual scheme of funding support for creative and innovative projects which seek to enhance, celebrate or commemorate the artistic, cultural, musical, film or heritage of the Island of Ireland on a North/South basis.
