19 Mar 2021
Siobhan Stevenson has been appointed new (interim) Director of the NI Museums Council.
A graduate in Archaeological Conservation from Cardiff University, she later lectured in conservation at Cardiff and developed and led the first MSc in Collections Care in the UK. She returned to Northern Ireland to take up post as Culture and Arts Manager for Belfast City Council, where she authored and implemented Belfast’s first Culture and Arts Plan and subsequent Integrated Cultural Strategy.
As former Head of Collections Care at National Museums Northern Ireland and Chair of the Institute of Conservation, Siobhan has a diverse background in care of collections, museum and private conservation practice, cultural policy, business planning and strategic development.
The IMA looks forward to working closely with Siobhan during her tenure at NI Museums Council and wishes Sinead McCartan, outgoing Director, every success in the future.
