Competition to appoint Chair and Directors to the Board of NI Museums Council

9 Oct 2020

An open competition to appoint a new Chair and Directors to the Board of the NI Museums Council (NIMC) has been launched. Successful candidates would be appointed for a period of three years, starting 1 January 2021.

NI Museums Council (NIMC) covers a range of local museums such as the Armagh County Museum and the Linen Hall Library in Belfast and encourages a dynamic, inclusive and sustainable museum sector. Through initiatives such as the ‘Reimagine, Remake, Replay’ and ‘Dementia Friendly Museums’ projects, as well as its various grant programmes, the Council seeks to widen its outreach and enable new audiences to enjoy and engage with museums.

All applications for appointment are considered strictly on merit. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 26 October 2020. A Guaranteed Interview Scheme (GIS) will be used. The aim of the GIS is to provide applicants with a disability the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities beyond the initial application stage.

This is an open competition and applications are welcome from a wide range of people with an interest in public service. Applications from women, ethnic minorities, young people and people with disabilities are particularly welcome.

Further information, including an application pack, can be obtained at NI Direct or by e-mailing Public Appointments.
