CFP Abstracts: Museum Ireland Vol 30

9 Apr 2024

The Irish Museums Association (IMA) has issued a call for submissions of paper abstracts (100 words) for Museum Ireland, Volume 30.

Deadline: Midnight, Tuesday 30 April 2024.

Museum Ireland is the annual journal of the museum sector in Ireland. It shares museum thinking and extends a forum for critical dialogue from a range of perspectives, by providing a collection of conference-based, themed, or project-generated contributions in the field of museums. It additionally aims to serve as an educational resource and support the career development of museum and cultural heritage professionals across Ireland.

Museum Ireland provides an important record of the museum landscape across Ireland, which is additionally complemented by reviews of museum capital developments, exhibitions, and publications.

Each year, the journal is themed around particular topics of interest to the museum sector. This edition particularly welcomes papers on the themes of building trust in museums; museum ethics; community engagement; decolonisation; navigating external pressures within the sector; and new leadership.

Published in hard copy since early 1990s, Museum Ireland is now provided as an open access online journal. Click here to access previous editions of Museum Ireland (ISSN 0961 9690). Abstracts are peer reviewed by the IMA’s publication panel.
