VISUAL

Set on the grounds of Carlow College, VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art & The George Bernard Shaw Theatre has welcomed thousands of visitors since it was opened in 2009.

The €18 million development is a joint project of Carlow Local Authorities and the (former) Department of Arts, Sport & Tourism under the ACCESS Programme.

VISUAL hosts artwork from local, national and international artists in five different gallery spaces. Admission is free of charge to all of the gallery spaces. A strong Learning and Engagement Programme provides workshops and classes. VISUAL also includes the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, hosting a varied programme of music, comedy, drama, film and dance.
