Michael Collins House Museum

Michael Collins House opened in 2016 and is a museum based in Clonakilty, West Cork dedicated to Michael Collins and the struggle for Irish independence. Located in a refurbished Georgian-built house in the town’s Emmet Square, where Collins lived as a young man, the museum tells the story of the local patriots who went before him and explores the life of Michael Collins the farmers son, the rebel, the politician, the soldier, the leader, the ‘big fella’.

Through interactive displays, audio visuals, historical artefacts, information boards and guided tours; history is brought to life and made accessible for all ages and levels of interest.
