Maritime Museum of Ireland
Ireland’s National Maritime Museum is housed in Dun Laoghaire’s 180-year-old Mariners Church, one of a few custom built places of worship for seafarers remaining intact in the world today. The Museum features maritime history, exploration, navigation, radio, deep-sea cable technology, nature, wildlife and art inspired by the sea.
Experienced guides will bring visitors on a voyage of discovery, enthralling them with stories of discovery, heroism, war and disasters at sea. Story boards, artifacts, personal memorabilia and interactive touch screens display information on over 800 casualties and survivors of the sinking of the RMS Leinster. Other exhibits like the radio room feature vintage Marconi radio stations and the opportunity for visitors to send a message in Morse Code.
