Foyle Valley Railway Museum

The Foyle Valley Railway Museum is dedicated to telling the rich railway history of the city and surrounding area. At the heart of the exhibition is a recreated railway station platform including the majestic County Donegal Railway steam locomotive. Within the displays visitors can find out about the various railway companies which once operated out of the city and the rise and fall of the railways in Derry.
Foyle Valley Railway Museum is operated by Destined, a charity for adults with learning disabilities. They are committed to empowering people with learning disabilities and promoting social inclusion. Destined has as its core ethos the involvement and full participation of its members in all aspects of activity and at all levels of the decision making process. This ethos has ensured members with learning disabilities constitute the majority of the board of directors and management committee.
