Creating engaging social media content and streamlining your time

With many of those working in museums wearing multiple hats, how do we ensure that digital engagement with our audiences is sustainable and relevant?

Megan Jones from Leeds Museums and Galleries will join us for this session that will encourage participants to explore what are the important messages they are aiming to communicate, how to develop successful interactions, secure buy-in from colleagues, and implement better planning to ease the workload. Drawing from her experience shaping the organisational 'voice', she will share the successes and trials encountered along the way.

Brief:

During the pandemic, the only way to engage with audiences was through digital content. Now we’re back in our buildings, many of us are juggling the demands of our physical visitors with maintaining those relationships online.

This workshop will navigate what works and what doesn’t on social media, using case studies from both in and outside of the sector to reflect on what audiences find engaging.

We’ll explore how you can keep up with digital trends without extra pressure on your time, and how you can use what you already have to create more meaningful connections with digital visitors, through new ways of storytelling. You’ll leave with ideas for small, practical changes you can make to get the most out of your channels and your time.

This workshop will be especially useful for those who have responsibility for posting to social media alongside another role, and we’ll end with a Q&A and troubleshooting discussion.
