This interactive online workshop, comissioned by the Irish Museums Association (IMA), will provide training to participants in writing in plain English. 

Taking place over a half-day, it will focus on how to write clear, concise, engaging content and stories for funding applications, include fact-sheets (on plain English and punctuation), and follow-up support, where participants send ‘homework’ in the form of a sample of their new writing and the trainer provides constructive feedback by email.

Facilitator/trainer: 

Plain English have delivered writing skills courses for many public sector bodies, including: National Museum of Ireland, Citizens Information, Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Department of Health, EPA, Legal Aid Board, MABS, National Disability Authority, Safefood and the Ombudsman for Children’s Office.

This training and follow-up support are delivered by Sarah Marriott. She is the director of Plain English Ireland, a former Irish Times journalist and a highly experienced trainer and editor.
