Museum Basics Course, Galway

Museum Basics is a foundation course which offers a practical introduction to the nature, context and operations of museums with the intention of providing practical examples and indicators of good practice and where and how further information can be found. Modules presented over the 4-week course cover an Introduction to Museums; Management & Governance; Documentation; Conservation; Display; Collection Care; Documentation; External Relations; and Education & Access.

The IMA will be holding a course this autumn in Galway City Museum. Taking place over four Saturdays from September 21st - October 12th (10am - 3pm), trainers include key professionals from the Museum Sector in Ireland.
