The complexity of the exit of the UK from the EU quickly became apparent with the end of the transition phase on 31 December 2020. While museums have been addressing the effect of the new changes on their practice, the need for clarity around the movement of collections has gained particular relevance as we seek to reopen museums over the coming months and move forward with exhibition planning.
What are the processes that now need to be taken in order to plan and prepare for importing or exporting items from museum collections to, from, and through the UK? How does the Northern Ireland protocol apply? Join us for this online session presented by Maurice Ward Art Handling, where they share insights into customs and transport procedures focusing on post-Brexit compliance for international transport.
About the speakers: John Ward, Director of Maurice Ward & Co Ltd and Teresa Brehony, Operations Manager of Maurice Ward Art Handling have expertise in dealing with customs issues in relation to loans, temporary/permanent import and export, and touring exhibitions for the cultural, museum and heritage sectors; along with services that support the care and transport of collections.
