03 October | 09:30 - 16:30
CNCI Conservation & Collection Care Group
The CNCI Conservation & Collection Care Group are delighted to invite you to attend a one-day seminar exploring how passive and low energy controls can be used to support a sustainable museum environment. Through a series of case studies and shared experiences it will examine the possibilities of providing passive preservation through integrated architecture and engineering approaches.
Targeted at professionals responsible for collection care, it aims to empower attendees with the knowledge to enable them to advocate for passive controls and understand the practical implications of this approach.
The event is generously sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
The programme is being finalised and will be uploaded shortly, but confirmed speakers include:
Jane Henderson - Professor of Conservation at Cardiff University
Mark Barry - Architect and Director, Architype and Perform+
Nick Grant - Design Engineer, Elemental Solutions and Perform+
Niall Brady - Energy Conservation and Environment Officer, National Museum of Ireland
Siobhan Stevenson - Independent Consultant - Legacy Conservation
The seminar is FREE to attend, though booking is essential.
