MA Annual Conference 2024: The Joy of Museums

The 2024 MA Conference will celebrate the innovation, inventiveness and creativity that make museums such incredible places.

We face many challenges as a sector and society, yet museums continue to deliver transformative experiences that have a deep and lasting impact on people’s lives. Museums' work with our communities is more important than ever – and it is worth celebrating and advocating for.

The conference will look at how the sector continues to innovate, working closely with communities to use the collections to tell new stories, developing productive partnerships and embracing the opportunities created by new technology.

It will explore how museums of all types and sizes are having a real impact on society, improving health and wellbeing, creating better places to live and work and offering spaces for debate and reflection.

It will discuss the importance of ethics – and how values such as inclusivity, equity and social justice bring communities together at a time of increasing intolerance and division, and explore how museums at the heart of their communities can help people to better understand themselves and others.

Registration: 

Digital access: ranges from £50 STG (concession), to £650 STG (All staff at institutional and commercial members). 

In person access: ranges from £270 STG (concession) to £550 (non-members). Single day access also available.
