Irish Jewish Museum

27 January | 11:15 - 13:00

Event Address

The next museum visit will be to the Irish Jewish Museum in Dublin 8 on Sunday 27 January at 11:15 - 13:00. This is a free event and members are encouraged to bring a guest. Prospective members are also welcome. Meet at 11:15 at 3 Walworth Road (near Victoria, Lennox and Harrington Streets), South Circular Road, Dublin 8.

The Irish Jewish Museum (est. 1984) stands on the site of Dublin's Walworth Road Synagogue, formed of two adjoining terraced houses built in the 1870's in what was once in the heartland of "Little Jerusalem" - the densely populated Jewish enclave off the South Circular Road. The Museum preserves an important, though small, part of Ireland's cultural and historic heritage and contains a substantial collection of memorabilia relating to the Irish Jewish communities and their various associations and contributions to present day Ireland.

The Museum is an all-Ireland museum and its material relates mostly to the last 150 years, playing an important educational role by being a window for the wider public into the Jewish life. The 27 January is International Holocaust Day.
