#IMACoffeeBreak: Unlocking your Retail Space’s Potential
13 October | 12:00 - 12:40
Irish Museums Association (IMA)
Event Address

Museum shops offer an opportunity to visitors to take home something they will cherish and invest in your museum. They can be creative, fun to develop, and highlight your collections; while also generating new revenue streams.
Sharon Nolan from the Athelstan Museum– a volunteer-led museum in Malmesbury, UK – will join us for this session, to share their experience as they transformed the museum’s retail space: the importance of planning, joined-up thinking and buy-in, and what worked (or didn’t!) along the way. Following a short introduction, we will open for wider discussion.
This session is aimed at those working in museums with currently under-utilised retail spaces and/or those who are seeking to maximise their earned income.
About #IMACoffeeBreak events:

The IMA Virtual Coffee Breaks are open to IMA members only* (Individual members and staff from Institutional and Museum members). We have limited capacity at each session so please book early to avoid disappointment.
