The unique challenges faced by independent museums.

With doubt, the immediate and future loss of revenue opportunities due to the Covid-19 crisis is being felt by the whole museum sector but it is having a particularly devastating effect on the more fragile members of our community.

Participants in this session will be encouraged to discuss what has or can be done to mitigate the organisational impact within their museums; to share information on some of the supports they have or intend to avail of; and what business planning, interruption, and continuity advice they can give colleagues.

This session is hosted by Lar Joye, IMA board member (Dublin Port Company Heritage Director).

These weekly gatherings of colleagues aim to provide connectivity between IMA members, allow you to share information and strategies, exchange ideas, and - most importantly - support each other during these difficult circumstances.

The IMA Virtual Coffee Breaks are open to IMA members only (Individual members and staff from Institutional and Museum members). We have limited capacity at each session so please book early by logging in to your/your museum's account to avoid disappointment. To join or renew IMA membership, click here
