#IMACoffeeBreak: Planning for the future
06 May | 12:00 - 12:40
Irish Museums Association
Planning for the future
As we look beyond the immediate impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, our museums are turning to planning for re-opening and recovery as we look towards the future.
From organisational needs and priorities to programming, what are the areas that will need most investment to alleviate the long-term effects of the crisis on museums and their wider ecosystems? Will this crisis change how museums work in future? What innovations explored during this period have enhanced both our way of working and services and can these be retained?
This session will be hosted by Dr Riann Coulter, IMA board member (Director, F.E. McWilliam Gallery & Studio), and Dr Audrey Whitty, IMA vice-chair (Head of Collections and Learning, National Museum of Ireland).
These weekly gatherings of colleagues aim to provide connectivity between IMA members, allow you to share information and strategies, exchange ideas, and - most importantly - support each other during these difficult circumstances.
The IMA Virtual Coffee Breaks are open to IMA members only (Individual members and staff from Institutional and Museum members). We have limited capacity at each session so please book early by logging in to your/your museum's account to avoid disappointment. Should you have difficulties using our membership system, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
