Saturday 21 May. The Annual Field Trip will include visits to Armagh County Museum, St. Patricks Church of Ireland Cathedral, No. 5 Vicars Hill and the Armagh Public Library. A bus will be provided from Dublin as part of the fare leaving from Earlsfort Terrace at 9.00 am. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. Armagh County Museum founded in 1937 was the first county museum in Northern Ireland and has a very fine and diverse collection. There will be a tour and a behind the scenes look at Armagh County Museum. The afternoon will be spent on the Hill top. Ard Macha is the ancient hilltop site of Armagh dominated by St Patrick's Church of Ireland Cathedral. Close by is No. 5 Vicar's Hill a 1770s building just opened as an interpretative centre highlighting the collections of Archbishop Robinson. Just a few doors away is the superb and historic library of similar date.
