In May 2018, data protection laws changed across Europe. The laws around the processing of personal data will became more stringent and organisations who carry out these activities were given more responsibilities and accountability, whilst data subjects received more rights.
Museums in Ireland need to understand the impact of these changes and what they need to do to prepare for the new regulations. Naomi Korn, Managing Director of NKCC led this workshop which focused on what the changes are, how these impact on museums and relate to broader museum responsibilities, and what museums needed to do next.
This workshop is presented by the Heritage Council's Museums Standards Programme for Ireland (MSPI) and the Irish Museums Association (IMA).
