This interactive three-hour training session, provided by the Disability Federation of Ireland, equips participants with the knowledge and skills to foster an inclusive and accessible environment for colleagues and clients with disabilities. This training will cover key topics such as disability legislation, inclusive language and communication principles, Universal Design, and accessibility in physical spaces, events, meetings, and digital environments.

The training is designed to be interactive and dynamic, incorporating a variety of engaging elements such as quizzes, breakout discussions, live polls, case studies, and both individual and group reflection points. Participants will explore practical scenarios, challenge misconceptions, and engage in open discussions to promote confidence in creating a culture of equality, accessibility, and inclusion.

There will be two comfort breaks during the training session.

About Disability Federation of Ireland

Established in 2014, the Disability Federation of Ireland (DFI) is a federation of member organisations working with people with disabilities to implement the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and ensure their equal participation in society.

“Our ethos involves designing our disability equality training with disabled individuals and partnering with professional trainers with lived experience. This means that individuals with lived experiences of disability play a pivotal role in both the creation and facilitation of our training.

This collaborative process ensures that the content is not only relevant and up to date but also practical. By incorporating the insights and perspectives of those with first-hand experience, we offer a richer, more nuanced understanding of disability. This approach enhances the learning experience, making our training more impactful."
