Collecting Childhood is a new research network that aims bring academic researchers, museum staff, curators, librarians, creative practitioners and community stakeholders together to generate new insights into the collection, display, study, interpretation and use of childhood artefacts in Ireland.

As part of the research process, two network events will create a space for much-needed conversations about the role of collection in defining, imagining and constructing childhood in Ireland, to explore questions about the intersection of private and public spheres, of childhood and adult cultures, of what is treasured for personal reasons and what is valued for research and scholarship.:

  • In-person: June 26th 10.00-13.00 , Trinity Long Room Hub, TCD, College Green, Dublin 2, Ireland
  • Online: June 29th 14.00-17.00

Springing from a partnership between the School of English in Trinity College Dublin and The Museum of Childhood Ireland (MOCI), this new research network is funded by the Irish Research Council.
