- National Maritime Museum of Ireland

Museum Basics provides an introduction to the nature, context and operations of museums, practical examples and indicators of good practice, and a guide to where and how further information can be found. It additionally facilitates a networking exchange among participants where existing knowledge and learnings can be shared.
The course is divided in eight modules of two hours duration each: introduction to museums, management & governance, display and interpretation, collection care, collecting principles, documentation, external relations, education and community engagement.
Our panel of trainers is formed by experts working within the museum sector.
