The National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin

Applications by: 18 June 2024

The Portrait Prize has been a feature of the National Gallery of Ireland (‘the Gallery’)'s exhibition programme since 2014 with the addition of the Young Portrait Prize in 2019.

The aim of the Portrait Prize is to showcase and encourage interest in contemporary portraiture, and to raise the profile of the long-standing and constantly evolving National Portrait Collection at the National Gallery of Ireland. The Young Portrait Prize plays an important role in the Gallery’s aim to foster and support creativity, originality and self-expression in children and young people, and recognises the role they play in the changing landscape of museums.

Nearly every county in Ireland has been represented through the application process and over the years, entries from Irish citizens living in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, South Africa, United Kingdom, and the United States of America have also been warmly received.

The Gallery is for everyone and we wish to collaborate and increase our national reach. In line with these aspirations, the Gallery wishes to recruit a Project Manager to deliver end-to-end project management of the two portrait competitions and exhibitions. This role will report to the Head of Exhibitions and Collection Services.

Duration: Three-year fixed-term contract.

Grade and Salary: Salary is in accordance with point 1 of the Assistant Keeper II (PPC) pay scale €37,211 per annum as per 1 January 2024 pay adjustments.
