National Museums NI is seeking to appoint a Design and Interpretation Officer, a key member of the Design Team delivering design excellence across their museum sites and content channels.

The Design and Interpretation Officer will use their creative skills and work collaboratively to develop standout interpretation and design that builds connections between National Museums NI’s audiences and their collections. They will support the Design and Interpretation Manager as a key member of the Design Team to deliver design excellence across their museum sites and content channels.

Salary range: £27,845 - £28,730

National Museums NI was established by the Museums & Galleries (NI) Order 1998, and comprises the Ulster Museum, Ulster Folk Museum, Ulster Transport Museum and Ulster American Folk Park. The organisation receives its core funding from the Department for Communities (DfC), but generates income and sponsorship from a variety of other sources to meet its revenue and capital expenditure needs.

The post holder will use their creative skills and work collaboratively to develop standout interpretation and design that builds connections between National Museums NI’s audiences and our collections.

The post holder will support the Design and Interpretation Manager as a key member of the Design Team to deliver design excellence across our museum sites and content channels.

They will develop and maintain relationships with colleagues across National Museums NI to deliver interpretation which provokes curiosity, takes audiences on an emotional journey, and makes a difference to their lives.
