The National Museum of Ireland is seeking to appoint a curator on a fixed term 2 year contract.

As Curator you will join the National Museum of Ireland who are known as Ireland's leading museum institution, with a strong emphasis on national and some international archaeology, Irish history, Irish art, culture, and natural history. You will provide support across a variety of projects including working on their 20th Century History of Ireland Exhibition. Your new office is located in Dublin City and is accessible via public transport. Your new company requires you to join their team on a 2-year assignment.

Your new role
As Curator, you will be responsible for general curatorial duties on the Art and Industrial Division’s collections with specific reference to the curation interpretation, research, exhibition, and publication of artefacts from the collections. Your duties will include to curate, catalogue, maintain and augment the collections of the Art & Industrial Division; promote and enhance the collections through exhibitions, research, publication and lectures both at home and abroad; recommend objects for acquisition; prepare and mount exhibitions and liaise with specialist and other staff as required; supervise relevant curatorial, technical and other staff and provide information of a specialist and general nature to the public and other institutions.
