The Irish State Art Collection, managed by the Office of Public Works (OPW), is on display in several hundred State owned properties nationwide. Management of this collection is undertaken by the OPW Art Management Office, based in Dublin.

There are currently a number of vacancies in the Art Management Office for Art Collection Registrars at Executive Officer level.

Art Collection Registrars will report directly to the Senior Art Collection Registrar (Higher Executive Officer level). They will be members of the collection management team comprising of a Senior Art Collection Registrar and a small team of Art Collection Registrars who are supported by administrative staff. As required, they will also work alongside OPW colleagues, independent researchers, graduates, and interns. A key element to the role will involve managing relationships with other Government Departments on a regular and on-going basis.

The Art Collection Registrars will have hands-on engagement with current projects in the Art Management Office relating to exhibitions, conservation and general client management tasks. The role will also involve researching and assisting with exhibitions and loan requests that arise on a consistent basis.

It is planned that the Art Management Office will apply to the Heritage Council’s Museum Standards Programme for Ireland (MSPI) programme in the near future and the Art Collection Registrars will support and assist with this application process.

Salary (EO PPC): €36,044 per annum.
