The IMA regularly posts vacancies in the museum sector, including all types of jobs in museums, galleries and historic properties. To add your listing, please click here to email us including details of: Closing date for applications; Method of application (e.g. CV and cover letter/ or specific application form); Email address for applications; Clear indication of salary or salary range; Duties; Duration of contract if not a long-term position; Specific requirements e.g. degree, drivers licence; Date of interviews. We can host documents and forms on our website for employers. This is a free service.

We reserve the right to refuse advertising of any post, or internships that do not meet best practice guidelines.

Internships should provide the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a working environment to those looking to explore or gain the relevant knowledge and skills required to enter into a particular career field. These can vary widely in structure, duration, remuneration and outcomes. The IMA would recommend that terms be read carefully before proceeding with an application. The IMA has taken part in the Working Groups of the following Good Practice documents: Best Practice Guidelines for Internships, by Visual Artists Ireland and the Volunteering in the Arts Toolkit, with Volunteer Ireland and Voluntary Arts Ireland.
