Posted: Monday, 28 November 2016

The Irish Arts Review have issued an an appeal to An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, to call an immediate halt to the plan announced by the Government to temporarily move Seanad Éireann into the National Museum building on Kildare Street in Dublin.

In the appeal, the Irish Arts Review state that the integrity of the National Museum building, which is a Protected Structure and which houses our greatest national treasures, must not be violated under any circumstances and add "Nor should the need to accommodate the very irregular sittings of the Seanad be allowed to impinge on the long-established rights and functions of this important national cultural institution".
