The National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts and History hosts a one-day conference on Saturday 1 March 2014, examining critical concerns around contemporary craft within the Irish context. In partnership with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland and the National College of Art and Design this conference seeks to address the contemporary positioning of craft by investigating the contexts through which craft objects are represented. The day is designed around three sessions, which will discuss curating contemporary craft; writing and critical thinking about craft and craft collections.
