Carlow County Museum opened its doors to the public on Thursday 5 April. 'It's a snapshot of Carlow; it's not everything but just to give people a flavour' according to Dermot Mulligan, curator of the newly-opened building. The museum has 50 volunteers and is entered on College Street, Carlow Town through the Carlow Tourism office.
The museum, which originally began in 1973, thanks to Carlow Historical and Archaeological Society, was housed in Carlow Town Hall. Its new home stands at the former Presentation Convent site on College Street.
