About Shanbally House & Gardens

Shanbally House & Farm in Toomevara is being established as a centre of excellence for herbal medicine. Beginning in May 2020 they will be holding seminars and in-depth conferences for herbalists and GP's on herbal medicine and nutritional therapy with speakers from around the world. Their multidisciplinary clinic in the second courtyard will provide treatments from their team of herbalists and other health care practitioners.

Shanbally House is currently under restoration back to its Georgian heritage. The walled garden and lawns are also undergoing landscaping this year, with the aim to open 1st of May 2020. Within the house there will be a display of herbal museum items and the historical connection Shanbally has to herbal medicine in Ireland. A tea room/ café, shop and herbal tasting space is all part of the main house.

Who are their customers?

· The Person who is interested in Herbal Medicine and wants to learn more about this area. Will attend public courses that they are interested in and perhaps walk through our landscaped herbal related gardens. They want to meet the experts in their field and they feel that they are learning something new – Intellectual Visitor

· The people who meet for coffee and a walk and always like to go to a place that is outside town that has parking. The person who likes group activities and perhaps guided tours and creating memories with other people – Social Visitor

· The person who likes the self-guided tour option and pays attention to the finer details within the destination. Likes using their senses and getting involved in creative activities and workshops – Sensual Visitor

Project Brief:

They are currently looking for an experienced hands-on exhibition designer that has the ability to bring the Shanbally story to life throughout the rooms in the main house, through sourcing relevant artefacts and developing storyboards and other media. Someone who has an interest and knowledge in herbal medicine and has experience in working on a similar start up project is an advantage. They want to be able to easily attract our target customers to Shanbally House and make their visit to the house an educational and sensory experience.
