Applications are invited from experienced professionals to fill a vacancy as Head of Education & Communication, as part of The Heritage Council's Management Team. The closing date for receipt of applications is 5:00pm on June 30th 2017.
Based in Kilkenny and reporting to the Chief Executive the successful applicant will demonstrate significant achievements in a range of relevant activities. The post holder will be required to drive emerging educational initiatives in Council's new Strategic Plan 2017-2022 as well as maintaining The Heritage Council's successful internal and external communication programmes.
The position is temporary and the successful candidate will be employed on a fixed term contract basis, subject to satisfactory service, for a period not exceeding two years.
A minimum of 5 years of senior organisational level responsibility in a similar small to medium size organisation is considered essential in order to contribute effectively to the work of The Heritage Council.
Excellent communication skills, flexibility in approach and a capacity to problem solve in a constructive team oriented manner are all essential competencies for this post.
A demonstratable knowledge and understanding of modern, community led approaches to heritage management, conservation and development are desirable as is relevant experience of public sector bodies.
